Fashion Sketch Coloring Book
Juan C. Diaz
The Fashion Sketch Coloring Book is a journey of black and white fashion and beauty drawings, ready to color. All the images are actual sketches created as pre-visualizations for different projects. Fashion models and artists are represented in different contexts.
For many years, Juan Diaz always heard: 'you should make a coloring book, your drawings are beautiful. So he did. As a fashion sketch artist, he understood the responsibility of his work, since it would be interpreted and shared with the world... this is a collection of just a few years, since there are indeed many more volumes to come.
About the Author
Juan was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. At the age of four he moved to San Juan, and in 1982 he left for Brooklyn, New York, to attend Pratt Institute for his BFA in Illustration. He immediately began working as Promotion Designer at Seventeen Magazine for six years. Briefly back on his island, Juan worked as Art Director for McCann Ericsson, and for film. In 1995, he started his sketch artist career in Los Angeles, California. Drawing all the global print and film campaigns for L'OREAL, his expertise in Hollywood is all within the fashion, beauty, music and entertainment industries, where design as esthetic reigns. Since 2004, until now, he has also taught at the Fashion Institute. Since only the creative groups and crew see the sketches for the productions he works on, he created this book in 2008, to share some of the drawings. Juan presently resides in Manhattan Beach, California, where he is currently developing collections and inventions, teaching, as well as fashion and beauty sketching.
